A primarily partly desert country, Namibia can be portioned into four general topographical regions.
> The Namib-Naukluft National Park
region: consisting of the Namib Desert, various canyons, and the coastal plains of the Atlantic Coast.
> The Central Khomas Highland
Plateau region: stretching east and north, consisting of majestic mountains and thick Acacia bush plains. Various smaller Parks and Reserves are found in this region.
> In the south-eastern
Namaland region: here the famous Kalahari Desert spill over from South Africa and Botswana. A scenic world of red dunes and old Acacia tress, this is home to the San / Bushmen "first people of Africa".
> The north and north-east
Ovamboland and Caprivi regions: consists largely of dense bush and sub-tropical forests of the water-rich Kavango and Caprivi
Strip regions. Three famous rivers form part of the Namibian borders (Kunene, Okavango and Zambezi Rivers). The Etosha National Park is considered to be one of the finest in the world, is in this region.
